Thriving Families Program
Thriving Families Program
PCCSU’s Thriving Families Program was created in hopes to address the challenges faced by individuals and families suffering from both mental health and substance use issues. Individuals in Pitt County are eligible to enroll in this program and participate in the free educational sessions, while also receiving gift cards for attendance and participation. The overall goal is to build up the family protective factors to support all individuals to prevent future substance use.
Topics of the trainings and presentation include promoting economic stability with financial management, resume building, interview skills, parenting skills, building resilience, healthy attachment and bonding between parent and children, healthy relationships, as well as, understanding the importance of securing and monitoring alcohol in the home, locking up any medications, and the importance of parent-child communication in preventing substance use.
